Partnering for Change

CanChild, in partnership with school boards and local community health agencies, created an innovative model to deliver occupational therapy services in Ontario elementary schools.

Partnering for Change is an innovative, evidence-informed model that guides the delivery of rehabilitation services in schools. The partnership includes educators, families and children, and therapists collaborating to promote participation by changing daily activities as well as the physical, social and learning environments, of children with special needs.

The CanChild Centre for Child Disability Research at McMaster University needed to deliver a report on the long-term study to various provincial ministries and wanted a way to communicate the results to policy-makers that was more engaging than a static text document. We collaborated to produce a responsive website that was inviting yet still clear and informative — and most importantly, spoke to the intended audience.

“Aaron listened carefully to what we wanted to achieve and took the time to really understand the content under a tight deadline. The research team and the funders are tremendously pleased with the end result!”
